Lithuania does not recognize ‘parliamentary elections’ in Nagorno-Karabakh

The Lithuanian Premier and Foreign Minister declared in Vilnius today
that Lithuania does not recognize the so-called ‘parliamentary
elections’ held in Nagorno-Karabakh on Sunday, affirming the position
of the Supreme EU Representative, Trend reports, citing the Lithuanian
embassy in Azerbaijan.

The Supreme Representative of the European Union on Foreign Affairs
Catherine Ashton said earlier that the EU does not recognize the
constitutional and legal framework of the ‘parliamentary elections’ in
Nagorno-Karabakh.

The separatist regime in Nagorno-Karabakh held illegal ‘parliamentary
elections’. Many international organizations, including the European
Council, have declared that they do not recognize the elections.
