The ship of the US Navy, "Philippine Sea" (CG-58) arrived on Monday in
Georgia, where it is expected to participate in planned joint military
exercises, News-Georgia cites the press service of the Border
Police of the Georgian Ministry of the Interior.
The Coastguard leadership of Georgia will meet with the crew and command of the
American warship in the framework of the training.
The US Embassy in Georgia has said that the purpose of the training is to
"strengthen regional stability and maritime partnerships with Black Sea
countries," which is part of the strategy of the European Command of the
Armed Forces and the 6th Fleet of the US Navy.
