Russia develops "road map" to support Russian language abroad

Russian specialists have developed a "road map" to support the Russian language abroad. It will operate in the 81 countries, the head of Rossotrudnichestvo, Farid Mukhametshin, announced today at the World Conference of Compatriots.

World Conference of Compatriots in Moscow opened today in Moscow and will last for two days. The forum is dedicated to the status of the Russian language abroad, its place in the global and regional processes.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev sent a greeting message to the participants and guests of the World Conference of Compatriots and noted that one of the priorities of the conference should be the support of Russian language instruction, as well as popularization of Russian cultural and humanitarian traditions, which have been always based on the high spiritual and moral ideals.
