Head of Chechnya concerned about mine problem in Chechnya

The mine problem has still not been resolved in Chechnya, causing the deaths of dozens
of people in the country, the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, announced
today.

The chairman of the Regional Government, Odes Baisultanov, reported that in
2010 the Ministry of Regional Development of Russia made calculations to
fund these works, but they have not calculated the transportation needs as
well as the destruction caused by explosive devices.

"Since then, the question has not developed. The Ministry of Finance and the
Ministry of Defence have not decided between themselves who will fund these
works, so the implementation of the program has not yet begun," Baisultanov said.
