The Iranian Minister for Roads and Urban Planning, Ali Nikzad, is attending a conference on development of trade and logistics of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) at Bandar-Abbas. He says that rail, road and combined corridors within the framework of ECO strengthen national and regional security, Iran News reports.
The minister underlined that it improves transit services. Transport corridors may be viewed as a means for reaching mutual understanding and fulfillment of common interests.
Nikzad expressed hope that the departure of the first container train of the Bandar-Abbas – Alma-Ata route would yield positive results, in terms of transit services and freighting.
