Kurdish militants may destabilize situation in Middle East - expert

Azerbaijani diplomat and political analyst Fikret Sadykhov told a VK correspondent that Kurdish militants may destabilize the situation in the region.

Such results are possible after the recent terrorist attack on Turkish servicemen that killed 24 people, the expert explains.

"The Turkish authorities will definitely respond. The Turkish position on the matter is clear and shared by the United States and the European Union. That is why the Kurdish Workers' Party is illegal in many countries," Sadykhov says.

At the same time, there are some countries that encourage Kurdish militants, as they are interested in an escalation of the conflict, the expert adds.

Prime Minister Erdogan refused to attend the Turkish-Speaking Countries Forum due to severe internal problems, rather than disrepect for the event, the expert added.
