Lema Gudayev, Chechen Deputy Minister for Foreign Links, National Policy, Press and Information, underlined that there were 150 radical groups with a total of about 60,000 people registered in Russia.
About 1000 Internet resources were closed in 2006-2007, containing extremist materials. There were only 12 in 1998, 4,800 in 2005, over 5,000 in 2008.
The ministry developed measures to fight terrorism information, aggression and ideology of extremism in the Internet.
This includes propaganda of positive resources and condemnation of such resources as Kavkaz-center, Chechenpress, Kavkaz Time and others.
