Death of Qaddafi raises questions in Russian Foreign Ministry

Gaddafi's son, Saif al-Islam, has been captured by the troops of the Transitional National Council, Al Arabiya reports.

Earlier it was reported that Gaddafi's son escaped from Sirte and was fleeing to the south, near the border with Niger.

At the present time another son of Colonel Gaddafi, Saadi Gaddafi, has been residing in Niger since September. The Niger authorities have recognized this fact, but said they were not going to hand him over to the TNC. According to some, Saadi now lives in the capital city of Niamey in a luxury villa under heavy security.

In turn, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in a live interview to radio stations "Voice of Russia", "Radio Russia", and "Echo of Moscow" that Gaddafi's death raises a number of questions which must be addressed with the help of an international investigation into the circumstances, ITAR-TASS reports.
