Nationalism is a severe problem in present-day Russia. Caucasian people are often at the center of inter-ethnic conflicts and rare calls for national unity and civil peace cannot change the situation for the better.
This subject was recently discussed at President Medvedev's meeting with students of Moscow State University's Faculty of Journalism.
Tigran Manasyan asked the president a question about inter-ethnic relations, saying that he himself cannot understand the mutual hatred of Armenians and Azerbaijanis.
The question may seem even wider - whether nationalism can spoil the whole process of regional integration or not?
