A senior Iranian lawmaker says the victory of the Ennahda Islamic party in Tunisia's elections will lead to the establishment of an Islamic system in the North African country, Press TV reports.
“The victory of the Islamic party of Ennahda in Tunisia's parliamentary elections will accelerate and promote the formation of an Islamic system in the country,” Ali Aqa-Zadeh Dafsari, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Majlis (parliament) said on Wednesday.
Partial results from Tunisia's Sunday parliamentary polls show that the once-banned Islamic Ennahda Party has won the country's first ever democratic elections.
