The Special Representative of the NATO secretary general for the South Caucasus and Central Asia, James Appathurai, will discuss the preparations for a visit of NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen to Tbilisi with the Georgian authorities, ITAR-TASS reports.
Appathurai arrived in Georgia today. He will meet Prime Minister Nika Gilauri, Vice-Premier and State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Georgy Baramidze and other officials.
Earlier reports said that Rasmussen will visit Georgia on November 9-10 and attend the NATO North-Atlantic Council. Rasmussen praised cooperation with Georgia and its involvement in the Afghanistan mission on September 30. Relations with Georgia are a special partnership, he said in Brussels. The North-Atlantic Council will visit Georgia in November.
