Belarus, Turkey plan introduce visa-free regime

Belarus and Turkey may sign a visa-free agreement, Turkish Ambassador to Belarus Jevat Nezihi Ozkaya said at a press conference in Minsk.

Belarusian citizens will be able to make visits from mid-2012 without visas and stay in Turkey for as long as they like, Ozkaya said.

The official added that air companies Belavia (Belarus) and Turkish Airlines are negotiating an increase of flights and number of cities with air links. The ambassador believes that more passengers will see ticket prices to drop.

Ozkaya says that about 160,000 Belarusians visited Turkey this year. Turkey is ready for more to arrive, Interfax reports.
