Georgia is expecting results from negotiations on Russian membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO), Georgian Presidential Secretary Manana Mandzhgaladze said, Trend reports.
The Georgian and Swiss presidents said that Russia wants time to decide on the proposals of Switzerland, which had offered to become a third side in monitoring border issues.
Mandzhgaladze confirmed that Georgia approved the compromise proposals of Switzerland on Russia’s WTO membership. Georgia wants control over freighting at Psou (Abkhazia) and the Roksky Tunnel (South Ossetia).
Switzerland proposed control over freighting by international observers on the borders of Russia with Abkhazia and South Ossetia and exchange of electronic information on the subject.
