BINSA initiates formation of new association of Black Sea ship owners

The Black Sea International Shipowners’ Association (BINSA) has proposed the formation of associations of ports and ship-repairing facilities of the Black Sea, the head of the Azerbaijani State Caspian Sea Company, the president of the association, Aydyn Bashirov, said, Trend reports.


Executives of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) are preparing recommendations on integration of sea transport, ports, shipbuilding and repairs in the Black Sea.


The Association of Vessel Repairers and Builders of the Black Sea (BRASS), BINSA, the Association of Black and Azov Sea Ports (BASPA) and the Association of BSEC Transport Unions (BSEC-URTA) prepared a project.


BINSA requested the International Transport Academy and the Institute for Market Problems and Economic-Ecological Studies of the Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences to join the project.


Participants of the BINSA session are discussing cooperation of international non-governmental transport organizations with BSEC partnership, development of recommendations for integration policy in the Black Sea Region, the economy, exploitation, protection of environment and naval laws.


Special attention was paid to business ties, their development and cooperation. The sides discussed practical association, determined basic trends for 2011-2012, expenses for 2012 and other affairs.
