Meeting of CIS Defense Ministers held in Almaty

The Council of Ministers of Defense (CMD) of the CIS will consider more than 20 questions on various areas of cooperation at a meeting in Kazakhstan on November 17, Interfax reports.

The Secretary of the CIS, Alexander Sinaisky, said that the 61st meeting of the heads of military departments of the CIS countries held on 17 November will be chaired by Defence Minister Anatoly Serdyukov.

The participants of the meeting will analyze results of the working bodies of the CIS in the 2011 and will consider the work plan for 2012.

The CMD meeting will be attended by delegations of defense ministers of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.
