The archbishop of Stavropol and Vladikavkaz Feofan is leading the
requiem for victims of the Stavropol explosion in Andreyevskiy church
on Dzerzhinskiy street, Interfax reports citing the archbishops
press-secretary Igor Nronskiy.
“The highest ideals are a man’s life. Nothing can justify the
terrorist attack in Stavropol”, Bronskiy cites Feofan. The archbishop
addressed young people not to rise to provocation. “We can imagine how
much talk and blame will be directed at the alleged criminal. That is
what they were probably trying to do with their actions. We should not
rise to it”, the archbishop said.
In addition to relatives, Stavropol mayor Nikolay Paltsev will also be
at the requiem.
The explosive device went off on May 26th at the House of Culture and
Sport in the city. The explosion happened 15 minutes prior to the
start of a concert by the Chechen dance group Vaynakh. Approximately
40 injured were hospitalized.
