Azerbaijan spent $10 million on preparation for its participation in
the Eurovision-2010 song contest. According to KP, the sum included a
promo-tour of its singer Safura Alizade in Europe, purchase of the
song for $150 thousand, hiring of Beyonce's choreographers and
photodiode screens on stage. Moreover, the Azerbaijani is the only
contestant living in Oslo’s most expensive hotel.
The most impressive purchase for Safura was a unique dress with lights
and a remote control from the British designer Francesca Rozella.
There are Svarovski crystals and thousands of lights in the dress. The
dress can also ‘expand’ and change color from smooth-blue to red-blue
using the remote control.
“My dress reflects my emotions in the song. It is the colour of water
because my song is about tears, and the stones decorating it refer to
tears. I feel comfortable in this dress. It is important for me”,
Safura told journalists in Oslo, APA reports.
