Ayvar Bestayev, a candidate for president of South Ossetia, has withdrawn from the race, Res reports.
Bestayev said that it is his final decision. He added that he would support Dmitry Tasoyev for president.
Ayvar Bestayev explained his decision. “I did not need the presidency, but needed a good life in South Ossetia. I want to see my homeland in a normal state. Dmitry Tasoyev, I believe, is a patriot of his homeland. He loves his country. We could continue working. It is a man who was carrying arms with his people from the very beginning. He did not leave his people in hardships. Could we not give out votes for him”, Bestayev says.
