UK may toughen sanctions against Iran

Foreign secretary William Hague announced today that Britain is considering financial and energy sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program, the Guardian reports.

Other European states, including France and Germany, have also called for further sanctions in the wake of the UN report on Tehran's work on developing nuclear weapons. Iran denounced the report as fabricated and said it would not compromise on its nuclear program.
