Rasmussen: Georgia is close to NATO membership but there is still much work to do

NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen talked today about successes of Georgia's integration into NATO and called for continued reforms in some areas, News-Georgia reports.

"NATO will continue to support Georgia in implementing reforms. Three years ago at the Bucharest Summit we agreed that Georgia will join NATO and this decision remains the same for our allies," Rasmussen said at a meeting of the NATO-Georgia Commission in Tbilisi.

Rasmussen called on Georgia to carry out reforms in the sphere of defense.
