ANAMA cleares mines at Turkish-Syrian border

The Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) and Turkey's Nokta have concluded mine clearing of 160 square km on the Turkish-Syrian border, ANAMA Chief Specialist for Operations, Adil Aslanov, said, APA reports.


The operation was carried out near the town of Karkamys in Gaziantep Province. The clearing group consisted of 10 people, including a supervisor, and a Bozena-4 technical vehicle. The operation resulted in 72 mines being cleared. A customs and crossing point is expected to be opened in the area.
