Iran wishes to trade and is ready to cooperate with the countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SOC), Iranian foreign minister Ali Akbar Salehi said today, Tengri News reports.
The region's problems and difficulties require cooperation between the region's governments, he told a session of the organisation in Saint Petersburg, noting that the SCO's potential created more opportunities for this. He praised the organisation's focus on trade, particularly in clearing obstacles to trade in electronic goods and energy and information security, which he singled out as requiring new means to combat the threat.
The building of railways in cooperation with Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan was a real measure taken to strengthen regional trade.
