The US does not rule out the deployment of anti-missile ships in the Mediterranean, Black, Barentsevo, Northern and Baltic Seas, ITAR-TASS cites Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on his way to Honolulu for the APEC summit as saying.
The US plan will be part of the NATO strategy. Facilities are being opened on the ground, bases will have interceptors and radars. Lavrov reassured that the anti-missile systems will not be used against Russia.
The minister clarified that Russian President Dmitry Medvedev told Obama about guarantees Russia expects from the US. They need to be clear and formal.
