Iran will host a conference in the Mazandaran Province on the legal status of the Caspian Sea in early December, Trend cites Mehti Sanai, head of the committee for the Caspian Sea of the parliamentary commission for foreign policy and national security of Iran, as saying.
Resht in Iran’s Gilan Province hosted the first conference on the Caspian Sea on October 8. The meeting saw foreign minister, members of the parliamentary commission for foreign policy and national security of Iran, officials from the Ministreis for Petroleum, Transport, Ecology, Customs of Iran and the Administration of Ports and Navy of Iran.
Coastal states signed a framework convention on protection of ecology of the Caspian Sea in November 2003.
