The Tajik ambassador to Moscow, Abdulmajid Dostiev, was summoned today to the Russian Foreign Ministry in connection with the case of pilot Vladimir Sadovnichy, sentenced to 8.5 years imprisonment in Tajikistan, the Foreign Ministry of Russia informs, RIA Novosti reports.
The State Secretary and Deputy Foreign Minister, Grigory Karasin, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Russian Federation, Abdulmajid Dostiev. During the conversation the Russian side once again expressed serious concerns about the future of the Russian citizen Vladimir Sadovnichy and an Estonian citizen Alexei Rudenko.
Last week Sadovnichy and Rudenko appealed their verdicts.
