The King of Jordan, Abdullah II, has called on Syrian President Bashar Assad to resign after the Arab League suspended the membership of Syria in the organization because of ongoing armed demonstrations in the country, Gazeta.ru reports.
"I think if I were in his shoes, I would have resigned," he told the BBC in an exclusive interview today.
The Jordananian monarch said that President Assad must start a new "era of political dialogue" before leaving his post.
