Activity of gangs in North Caucasus declines due to first frost

The activity of thugs in the North Caucasus has declined in the last week with the onset of cold weather, the head of the Interior Ministry headquarters in the North Caucasus Federal District said on Monday.

However, as law-enforcement bodies note, a high level of terrorist threat remains in the region. Last week security forces carried out 22 operational search operations in the region and detained seven members of illegal armed groups in Dagestan.
