France to hand over Chateau Leoville to Georgia

Georgian State Minister for Diasporas Papuna Davitaya continues his visit to France, Georgia Online reports.


He has met French officials to discuss the passing over of Chateau Leoville to Georgia. He met Ludovick Gilsher, Deputy Director of the Ministerial Office for Budget, and Vensant Peti, a member of the office. The Georgian minister also met Eric Furnier, Director of the Department of the Continental Europe.


The Georgian Emnassy in France held a session of the joint commission for passing of Chateau Leoville and property to Georgia. Ambassador Mamuka Kudava, envoy Gocha Javakhishvili, Chairman of the Asociation "Georgian Fireplace" Iren Tsitsishvili and other members of the commission were present.


A memorandum on passing of Chateau Leoville was passed on May 23, 2011. A Georgian cultural center is to open in Leoville, basing on the memorandum.
