Russian Patriarch calls for unity among all Christians of the Middle East

The head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Moscow Patriach Kirill, calls for unity among all Christians living in the Middle East, ITAR-TASS reports.

The remarks came during the chief clergyman's visit to Lebanon.

At a meeting in Beirut on November 15th Patriarch Kirill and Lebanese President Michel Suleyman discussed the current complicated situation in the Middle East, Interfax recently reported.

The Patriarch invited Lebanese Church notables who attended the meeting to join a discussion on the future set-up of world civilization. The Maronite Patriarch, Beshara al-Rai, said preparations are under way for a summit of Christian and Muslim religious leaders of the Middle East.
