The US insists on introduction of sanctions and political pressure against Iran. A military strike on Iran would harm the global economy, US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said at a meeting with his Israeli counterpart Ehud Barak.
Inefficient sanctions against Iran may bring about a military solution to problem, Mubariz Ahmedoglu, Director of the Center for Political Innovations and Technologies, told Vestnik Kavkaza.
The expert believes that the sanctions are inefficient, because they have been manipulated for almost 10 years. The main guilt of the six mediators is that they have not chosen the right partner for negotiations. They talk with the Iranian president, foreign minister, other ministers, but Iran has a religious leader, Ayatollah Khameini. Negotiations with him would be more efficient. Otherwise, the process would only contribute to a military solution, the bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities. The chances of this are very high.
Ahmedoglu goes on to say that the Iranian problem brings in new problematic issues that complicate finding a compromise. The events in the Middle East and Arab states are forcing Israel to search for a way out. The expert believes that Israel has found one: bombing Iran to gain the sympathy of Arab states.
