Kshishtov Lisek, a co-reporter of the European Parliament for Georgia, has commented on the reforms being realized in Georgia and called it a successful partner after visiting Tbilisi, News Georgia reports.
Lisek plans a meeting with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and the Cabinet.
There are six partners such as Georgia in Eastern Europe. Georgia is among two leaders realizing reforms. The first leader is Moldova, he said at an expanded session of parliamentary committees for European integration and foreign links. Georgia is a European state recognizing domination of law, protection of human rights and democracy.
Commenting on the recent resolution passed by the European Parliament on Georgia, where the word "occupation" of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali Region (South Ossetia) was mentioned three times, Lisek noted that the situation delays the stability and development of the state. He noted that 90% of the European Parliament recognizes the term "occupation". Russia must withdraw its forces as soon as possible, the official continues. He urged Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, to continue talks with Russia.
