New MANPAD tested in Iran

Iran has successfully tested the a new MANPAD which will soon be provided for all anti-missile forces, ITAR-TASS reports.


The systems were tested as part pf protection of air space and nuclear facilities. The weapons were tested at the Khatam Al-Anbia base. The new complexes showed efficiency in shooting down drones. They can be operated by a single person.


Iran has been actively working on building new weapons and modernizing the old ones. The Iranian Defense Ministry announced equipment of anti-missile forces Mersad complexes. Mersad is equipped with medium-range missiles Shakhin, capable of hitting any aircraft at a radius of 70-150 km.
