Russia to build "Iskander" missile defense systems in Kaliningrad, Belarus and Kuban

In the event of failure of negotiations with the US on the issue of missile defense, Russia may deploy Iskander missile defense systems in the Kaliningrad region, Belarus and Krasnodar region, Gazeta.ru cites its source in military-diplomatic circles of Moscow.

At first the Iskander was planned to be placed only in the Kaliningrad region.

The response of military-technical measures may include the empowerment of the Russian missile defense system, intensified efforts to create an aerospace defense system and strengthening of the space segment of the Russian system of missile warning.
