Ukraine wants access to SES and Customs Union markets

Ukraine wants to resolve all disputes on access to markets of the Single Economic Space and the Customs Union, Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov said on Thursday, RIA Novosti reports.

Ukraine strives for integration in Europe and to sign an association deal with the EU with a free trade zone as part of it. Russia is concerned about Ukraine’s commitment to building a free trade zone with the EU. Kiev sees no problems in the functioning of the CIS free trade zone and that of the EU.

Azarov made the statement at a conference with Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov. The Kazakh official promised to support Kiev in lifting barriers in the Customs Union. Azarov is currently in Astana.

Kiev does not plan to join the Customs Union and wants cooperation via the 3+1 format, disapproved of by Russia.
