The European Union has condemned Israel's attacks on ships carrying
tons of humanitarian aid from Turkey to the Gaza Strip and demanded an
explanation from the Israeli government, Trend reports.

Catherine Ashton appealed to the Israeli leadership to let
international ships enter the Gaza Strip to carry humanitarian cargo
to the Palestinian enclave.
Moreover, the Arab League announced it will hold an emergency meeting
to raise the issue of a unified Arab response. Secretary General Amr
Moussa invited member states to attend an emergency assembly session
in Cairo on Tuesday. He also called on Palestinians of the West Bank
of Jordan and Gaza sector to stage a strike.
