The United Russia Party held consultations on candidates to lead Adygeya on November 27, the party’s official website says.
Vladislav Surkov, deputy head of the presidential administration, Boris Gryzlov, Chairman of the Supreme Council, Sergey Neverov, Secretary of the Presidium of the General Council, and Andrey Vorobyov, head of the party’s CEC, were at the talks.
The names of candidates have not been given. Aslan Tkhakushinov has been the formal head of Adygeya since 2006. Tkhakushinov, Rector of the Maikop State Technological University, was appointed by the State Council on December 13, 2006, for 5 years. The inauguration took place on January 13, 2007.
