Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev has ordered the composition of a development concept of Azerbaijan until 2020, entitled "Azerbaijan-2020:a look to the future". The president says that the state has entered a new development stage.
The main goal is formation of a diversified, efficient, innovation-oriented economy, social development and ian ncrease of the population's prosperity to the international standards, achievements in science, culture and all spheres of life, Aliyev says.
Supervision of the work on the concept is carried out by the Presidential Administration. A project will be presented by the end of 2012. State structures, science organizations and high-skilled specialists will be involved in preparing the document. International experience will be used. There will be active cooperation with the UNDP and other international organizations.
The cabinet and related state structures were ordered to take all the necessary measures to fulfil composition of the development concept.
Khazar Akhundov, an economic analyst, told Vestnik Kavkaza that the concept will be the country's basic document in the following years. It will affect economic and socio-cultural spheres of life. Its complexity is seen in the time given for its development.
The concept will be followed by certain programs for the development of the economy, the social sphere, education and medicine, sport, culture and other aspects. It will generally round up previous developments.
