Georgia proposes Single Caucasus Concept to Armenia

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan continues his visit to Georgia. He plans to meet representatives of Armenian communities and attend a Georgian-Armenian business forum.

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili proposed a concept of the Single Caucasus to Sargsyan, Mir reports.
Saakashvili believes in a union of the Caucasus, such as the European Union or the Single Economic Space. There is no alternative, the president explains.

The sides plan to discuss a simplified border crossing mechanism. The crossing procedure was simplified from 30 to 5 minutes. It would be a transparent border such as the one France and Switzerland have. Georgia has such border with Turkey.

Sargsyan agreed with Saakashvili's initiatives. He said that Georgia is a strategic partner for Armenia.
