Turkish air forces have carried out another attack on Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants in Iraq, Trend reports.
Turkey started attacks in mid-August. Its air forces attacked Kurds in northern Iraq and Turkey. The attacks began after a murder of 9 Turkish servicemen on August 17. 24 servicemen were killed and 18 injured in an assault at the Province of Khakkari on October 19. A mass operation started with 10,000 troops involved in five districts of northern Iraq.
The conflict of Turkey and the PKK has been ongoing for over 25 years. Kurdish separatists demand independence. Over 40,000 people have been killed in the war. The PKK has been recognized as a terrorist organization by the UN and the EU.
