Galsky District of Georgia held another session of the mechanism for prevention and reaction to incidents in the Abkhaz conflict zone on Wednesday, Georgia Online reports.
The next meeting was set for Gali on January 31, 2012. The Georgian delegation was headed by Shota Utiashvili, head of the information-analytical department of the Georgian Interior Ministry. It has been the 32nd such meeting held with the UN chairmanship in Gali.
The UN says that the talks concerned the detention of people. Participants of the session discussed free transport over the Inguri Bridge and other crossing points. They noted the role of efforts to fight crime and offered steps for further consideration.
Meetings within the framework of mechanisms for prevention of incidents at the Galsky District were initiated at the 6th round of talks in Geneva on July 1, 2009.
