Ruslan Tambiyev to be Cherkessk's new mayor

Members of the local legislature approved Ruslan Tambiyev's appointement as Cherkessk's new mayor, Interfax reports.

Local officials in Russia are not elected. They are apponited by the president and local legislative bodies are then to approve the candidates proposed by the head of state.
