Turkey listed 61st on corruption list

Turkey made the 61st spot on Germany's Transparency International's Corruption Index. The list gave the number one spot to New Zealand, which marked the country as “the cleanest” corruption-wise, Hurriyet Daily News reports.

The index aims at measuring the levels of corruption in a country and ranks the countries accordingly, placing the cleanest corruption-wise at the top of the list and the most corrupt at the bottom.

Turkey's grade was 4.2 out of 10, placing it in the better half of the list. New Zealand, the champion, received 9.5.

Out of the 183 countries, Somalia and North Korea were labeled as the most corrupt countries on the index.
