Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has urged Russians to take part in parliamentary polls on December 4, RIA Novosti reports.
The president pointed out that elections are one of the main displays of democracy. Every citizen is free to vote for any party he trusts, Medvedev noted.
Many good deeds are done with a feeling of responsibility, a call of the heart, moral considerations, understanding that we are the ones to make our lives better, he says.
Parliamentary polls will decide on which measures will be passed for development of the economy, the social sphere, further growth of wages and pensions, development of education reforms and healthcare, control of corruption and crime and protection from foreign threats.
The president suggested that people should think about how much time they would need to decide whether they would go and vote or not. The decision will determine what parliament the state will live with for 5 years.
