Turkey detains former justice minister

Turkey's ex-minister of justice, Seyfi Oktay, has been arrested in
Ankara on charges of plotting a coup, Trend reports, citing CNN Turk.
Along with the ex- minister, some 23 people were also detained.
The investigation began in January of this year. According to the
Turkish governmental newspaper "TARAF", the Turkish Armed Forces
prepared a special plan under the codename "Balez" to overthrow the
government. Under this plan, after blowing up mosques the army would
take advantage of teh confusions and chaos and overthrow the
government.
According to the newspaper, this plan was prepared in 2002-2003 and
the ex- general of the Turkish Armed Forces Chetin Dogan was involved
in the plot. The prosecutor's office is investigating the involvement
of more than 200 people in the plot.
