Iran resumes public hangings

Man found guilty of drug smuggling was publicly hanged in the south-western Iran, agency ISNA reports.

Iranian Supreme Court confirmed the death sentence of a court of first instance, and the execution was carried out in the city Avhaz.

Iranian authorities usually hang convicted criminals in prisons, but in this case, to provide the desired psychological effect among the population  the execution was carried out un public.
