Aslan Tkhakushinov remains head of Adygeya

Aslan Tkhakushinov will remain the head of Ingushetia, local media report.

Previously the local office of the ruling United Russia party said that the party's branch in Adygeya would approve Tkhakushinov's candidacy, which was proposed by President Medvedev.

Local officials in Russia are not elected. They appointed by the president and such appointments are then approved by local legislatures.
