Iran has demanded the UN to protect it from US aggression, Iranian representative to the UN Mohammad Hazai said, ITAR-TASS reports.
He sent a letter to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Chairman of the UN Security Council Vitaly Churkin and Chairman of the 66th session of the UN General Assembly Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser. In the letter Hazai pointed out provocations and secret operations of the US government against Iran in the last months.
The document tells about the recent crash of a US drone RQ-170 with a secret serial number, violating the air space of Iran. The aircraft passed 250 km over Iranian territory, almost reaching Tabas before it was shot down.
The ambassador underlined violations of the UN charter and urged the international community to take efficient measures to put an end to dangerous and illegal acts.
