Erdogan: The ban against wearing hijab is worse than destruction of the sacred Kaaba

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan  criticized sharply the movement for a ban against women’s wearing the hijab in educational and public institutions, which became widely spread in Turkey in recent years. The violation of human rights, including the right of women to dress on their own discretion, worse than the destruction of the holy Kaaba, said the Prime Minister.

Statement by the Turkish prime minister was caused by attacks on women wearing head scarves, which have become more. Of late, representatives of some parties  conduct public hijab tearing in the city streets, and some educational institution no longer tolerate their students, wearing hijab, even those wearing it just outside the institution, and take it off at the entrance to the alma mater.

Even those trying to wear hats instead of hijabs are expelled from university classrooms, reports islamnews.ru.
