Iran to produce own drones

Iran plans to start own drone production similar to the US RQ-170 Sentinels, Parviz Soruri, Chairman of the Iranian Parliamentary Committee for Inner Security, said, ITAR-TASS reports.

Iranian specialists plan to copy an RQ-170 shot down on December 4. The drone received minimal damage.
A spokesman of the US administration said on December 5 that there was no information on the drone being shot down. The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said that the drone was lost in Afghanistan. A set of US specialists says that the drone was produced by Iran and is useless. Iranian and other sources say the aircraft was on a spy mission.

Vzglyad said that the drone was shot down by a Russian mobile station in Iran. Russia and China also expressed interest in the drone.
