Ahmadinejad said that the discovery of new gas fields will
increase the political role of Iran in the Caspian Sea and in the
adjoining regions.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the discovery in the
Caspian Sea of the large natural gas reserves will reverse the situation
and the energy balance in the Caspian Sea, said Iran News.
He also said that drilling during explorations in the Caspian
Sea are carried out with the platform with the latest
technological equipment, "Amir Kabir", designed and built by Iranian
experts.
The president said that gas reserves in the new field in the Caspian
Sea are estimated at 1.42 trillion. cu. m, and these stocks can meet
the needs of the country in the next 10 years if the levels of
consumption stay the same.
According to the president, new gas fields in the Caspian Sea will
have a positive and constructive influence on the northern provinces
of the country and, in particular, the province of Mazandaran. . Thus,
the industrial look of the northern regions will change completely,
and it will be the beginning of major transformations in the province
of Mazandaran and other northern provinces.
